After the huge disappointment on the “Fight of the Century” last May 2nd, a huge majority of boxing fans have now grown allergic to the mere idea of a rematch between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.
But not Freddie Roach.
Evidently, Pacquiao’s renowned trainer is looking for that second chance right the wrongs that hindered the fight going towards their favor. But what made things more interesting was what he thinks the outcome would be, should that happen.
"Manny would do much better in a rematch, if the shoulder gets better,” Roach told Sky Sports. “We were doing well until the shoulder went in the fourth round and we had a tough time after that. I do think we can beat Mayweather, 100 per cent."
Mayweather coasted through a wide unanimous decision verdict (118-110, 118-110, and 116-112), earning him the WBO welterweight title. He is slated to face Andre Berto on September 12th for his 49th and supposed final fight.
