Manny Pacquiao’s immediate boxing future lies in his own hands.
This, according to his own promoter, Bob Arum. Last week, the 83-year old Top Rank chief went on record saying he foresees a fight between Pacquiao and former stablemate Amir Khan in 2016, with Dubai being targted as the possible venue.
“This kid Amir Khan keeps shooting his mouth off about Manny Pacquiao. I can arrange for Khan to fight Pacquiao,” Arum said in an interview with the Telegraph.
However, in a recent report by Boxingscene.com, Arum is now leaving it all up to Pacquiao to make the final decision regarding the next career move.
“This takes time and I will present everything to Manny and we'll see what happens.”
Since undergoing a successful surgery on the torn rotator cuff on his right shoulder last May, Pacquiao has not yet made any specific statements regarding his next possible opponent. He will be on the sidelines until 2016, when his shoulder is expected to be fully healed.
