After two months of uncertainty, the welterweight showdown between WBO champion Timothy Bradley and Brandon Rios will finally be happening.
In a report by Dan Rafael of ESPN.com, the fight will be taking place on November 7th at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
Bradley, who last saw action in June against Jesse Vargas, is looking forward to an all-action fight against a stand-and-bang fighter like Rios.
"I am excited to get back into the ring on Nov. 7 against a very game and very dangerous Brandon Rios. I know that he is dedicated to giving the fans what they pay for. So am I. I guarantee you that the Thomas & Mack Center will once again deliver a great match.”
Likewise, Rios is as excited as his opponent.
"We've been looking for a big fight and at last we have it. I'll be ready."
As early as July, Top Rank chief Bob Arum, who serves as the promoter for both fighters, announced the match-up between the two welterweights. Negotiations, however, fell through, after the Bradley camp supposedly had a ‘change of heart’.
