Even in retirement, Floyd Mayweather is not spared from being called out by fighters.
Most recently, WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley joined the fray, relaying his intent to have a crack at “Money May” loud and clear.
“I know what I gotta do, but I know I can mix it up with that guy,” Bradley said in an interview with the Desert Sun (c/o Boxingscene.com). “I know I can hit him a lot more than a lot of people.”
Bradley adds that seeing Mayweather’s 49th and final fight against Andre Berto a week ago gave him more confidence in his skills that would topple boxing’s pound-for-pound king.
“I sat there, I watched it live. And I know, I know, that I can get to that boy. I know. No doubt about it. I got speed. I know Berto’s got speed, but I’m a risk taker.”
“That’s the difference between me and a lot of guys,” Bradley adds. “I’ll take risks in there to get to Mayweather and I’ll make him fall into spots.”
Bradley faces Brandon Rios in a welterweight fight on November 7th in Las Vegas.
