Two of ALA Boxing’s prized fighters will be taking the stage on November 28th as they co-headline Pinoy Pride 34.
Set to take place at the Hoops Dome in Lapu-Lapu City in Cebu, the event will be bannered by Milan “El Metodico” Melindo (32-2, with 12 victories by knockout) and “King” Arthur Villanueva (21-1, with 14 victories by knockout).
Melindo, who will be the event’s main attraction, last saw action in May against IBF light flyweight champion Javier Mendoza. Unfortunately for him, he was unable to pick up the win.
In a report by PhilBoxing.com’s Dong Secuya, he is currently positioning himself to contend for Donnie Nietes’ WBO 108-pound title, once the latter finally decides to vacate it.
Villanueva, on the other hand, last fought in July, where he lost a controversial decision against IBF super flyweight champion McJoe Arroyo. The fight was marred by an incessant clash of heads that eventually opened up a cut above the Filipino boxer’s right eye. This eventually led to the referee stopping the fight, a move that was then questioned by both fans and media men afterwards.
