While the ALA boxers are preparing for the biggest fights of their careers this weekend at Pinoy Pride 33, their opponents are not letting themselves be outdone.
In a report by Dyan Castillejo of ABS-CBN News, the Latino fighters are confident with their chances heading into the fight. Mexico’s Juan “Pinky” Alejo says while he has a lot of respect for Donnie Nietes, he believes he has done enough in training to emerge victorious.

“Really happy about this fight,” Alejo said, speaking through a translator. “I consider my opponent as one of the best in the weight division, but I am prepared to win.”
For Nicaraguan William Gonzalez, who will be fighting “Prince” Albert Pagara for the WBO International Jr. featherweight title, a knockout victory is the main goal.
“I am not afraid of anyone. I am here to fight any fighter in the ring, and I am ready for a knockout [win].”
Nicaragua’s Santos Benavidez will be facing Jayson Pagara in a 10-round non-title fight. And for him, “El Niño” is merely a stepping stone to his ultimate objective of grabbing a world title.
“It’s important he's one of the top fighters right now. It would be great for me, that's one more step to get a world championship title.”
