Five-division world champion Nonito Donaire remains laser-focused on his upcoming task against Cesar Juarez, as he aims to win back the WBO super bantamweight title.
In a report by ABS-CBN correspondent Bev Llorente, “The Filipino Flash” says they have already completed the necessary preparations needed for the December 11th fight in Puerto Rico.
“Alam ko na ang style ng kalaban ko,” Donaire said. “But most of all, may gameplan na po kaming gagawin inside the ring.”
Donaire’s father and trainer Dodong agreed with his son’s assessments, adding that they are actually gunning for a second round knockout.
“Kasi nakikita ko na ang smart niya sa loob ng ring ngayon,” the elder Donaire said. “Madulas tsaka malakas. Nandoon na lahat ng kailangan niya gawin.”
Among those who have witnessed Donaire’s sparring sessions is X-Factor USA member Alex Kinsey of the “Alex & Sierra”. He, too, was impressed at how Donaire handled himself during the sessions.
“I’ve never seen anyone actually fight before, and I’ve never been in a fight,” Kinsey explained. “It’s pretty cool, it’s a very unique experience and super intimidating seeing him. He’s so good.”
For his part, Donaire is already itching to get inside the ring and take care of the task at hand.
“I’m very excited for this opportunity,” Donaire said. “It’s time to rise.”
