Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donaire is all set to regain the WBO word super-bantamweight championship against Mexico's Cesar Juarez after a successful weigh-in Puerto Rico.
Donaire had no trouble making 122 lbs for the super-bantamweight limit and per Dyan Castillejo of ABS-CBN News, the Filipino Flash is looking great ahead of his return in the world title picture.
He's also having none of his opponent's mind games.
"Tinignan niya ako, sabi ko 'ok lang no problem.' I feel very strong," Donaire (35-3, 23 knockouts) said.
The Filipino Flash is looking to count on his vast ring experience to offset Juarez being nine years younger.
"I know he will feel my power, I have so much experience in the ring," Donaire said.
The fight was elevated to world title status after Guillermo Rigondeaux, who beat Donaire by unanimous decision two years ago for the WBO championship, was stripped of the belt due to inactivity.
The last time Donaire fought for a world championship was last year where he was knocked out in the sixth round by Jamaican star Nicholas Walters for the WBA super featherweight title.
Donaire vs. Juarez will air on December 13, Sunday at 10 am on ABS-CBN channel 2 and 10 pm on ABS-CBN Sports+Action channel 23.
