While Manny Pacquiao has yet to make the announcement on who his next opponent will be, his trainer Freddie Roach as spoken up.
In an interview with Fight Hype, the 55-year old boxing trainer and former fighter says he is looking at the possibility of a fifth showdown between Paquiao and long-time rival Juan Manuel Marquez.
"He needs to fight somebody that the people want to see,” Roach said. He fought everybody and he still wants to fight everyone. I'd love to do it again.
“I think it's a big fight,” he continued. “I think he owes us one.”
Throughout the past four fights between Pacquiao and Marquez, the Filipino boxing icon officially holds the edge, 2-1. Their first fight in 2004 ended in a draw, despite Pacman’s three scored knockdowns during the first half. The second fight in 2008 was again a close one, but this time around, Pacquiao was able to sneak in a split decison verdict.
The third fight was equally controversial, that despite Marquez’s output, still lost the bout via majority decision. “El Dinamita”, however, was able to finally silence the critics in their fourth fight in 2012, through a highlight reel sixth round knockout victory.
