Manny Pacquiao has chosen Timothy Bradley for his 66th and supposed final fight on April 9th of the coming year.
The news was confirmed by Top Rank Promotions CEO Bob Arum on Wednesday night (PHT).
“It’s a done deal and it’s going to be a third fight against [Timothy] Bradley. We took a lot of consideration knowing Bradley has improved a lot as a fighter since the last time they’ve met in 2014,” Arum said.
“Bradley is happy about it of course and that’s really a competitive fight for Manny [Pacquiao]," he added.
Pacquiao and Bradley hold a victory over each other, through their two encounters in June 2012 and April 2014, respectively. “Desert Storm” picked up a controversial split decision during their first fight, marking Pacquiao’s first official loss since 2005.
“Pacman” was then able to avenge the said defeat in their second fight through a unanimous decision verdict.
Pacquiao’s decision to finally walk away from the sport of boxing after a 20-year career was mainly anchored on his aspirations to become a full-time public servant. Currently the Congressman for the Sarangani Province in Mindanao, he is currently a Senatorial candidate for the May 2016 elections.
