With still three months away from his 66th and final fight, Manny Pacquiao is confident about his chances against WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley.
The rubber match between both men is slated to take place on April 9th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, with Bradley’s title on the line.
“Pacman”, who is five years older, says age will not be a factor in the said bout.
“I’m still young and I feel strong. We will train hard for this fight so we can handle whatever our opponent may bring to the table,” Pacquiao told Philboxing.
Pacquiao’s decision to finally retire from professional prizefighting after two decades was mainly anchored on his intentions to become a public servant. Currently a Congressman of the Sarangani Province in Mindanao, he is eyeing for a Senatorial seat through the May 2016 elections.
With the campaign period expected to be in full swing in the coming months leading to the elections, Pacquiao’s adviser Michael Koncz is hoping that the entirey of the training camp for the third Bradley fight would be held in the United States to avoid any distractions.
“We could hardly prevent his supporters and political allies from disturbing him since he is also a politician,” Koncz said. “So I suggest let’s hold the entire training camp in the US.”
