If there is one thing Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor McGregor have in common, it’s the fact that both men have a penchant for trash talking.
But according to “Money May”, there also lies an unfair treatment towards African-American fighters like himself when it comes to putting up a brash persona. In an interview with FightHype.com, the undefeated retired boxer first questioned why people have different perceptions about their attitude.
“I don't really know the McGregor guy; never seen him fight,” Mayweather said. “I heard his name actually from one of the runners that works for our company; a little kid named Ken Hopkins, he's a runner and takes care of a lot of the daily business. Whatever we need, he takes care of. He's a cool little kid, I like him, and he does MMA.”
“He told me about the guy McGregor,” he continued. “They say he talk a lot of trash and people praise him for it, but when I did it, they say I'm cocky and arrogant. So biased! Like I said before, all I'm saying is this, I ain't racist at all, but I'm telling you racism still exists.”
While Floyd Jr. has not exactly thrown any flak towards “The Notorious”, McGregor had repeatedly belittled Mayweather in past interviews, noting how he would “easily dismantle” the undefeated boxer in an all-out fight.
