Four-division world champion Adrien Broner was one of the late additions to the shortlist of opponents slated to face Manny Pacquiao on April 9th.

But when the Filipino boxing icon opted for a rubber match against WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley, it was met by disappointment from a huge number of boxing’s most ardent supporters.

As expected, the same reaction came from Floyd Mayweather’s “little brother”, who expressed his frustrations through a series of tweets, following the announcement on New Year’s Eve.

In an interview with Boxingscene.com in late December, Pacquiao’s adviser Michael Koncz confirmed that they had been reaching out to Broner’s camp for a possible deal.

However, it was Top Rank CEO Bob Arum, who put the lid on the idea, stating a fight between Broner and Pacquiao “doesn’t sell pay-per-views.

“The Problem”, of course, did not take this in a positive way, as he now intends to let his frustrations out on upcoming opponent and team Mayweather fighter Ashley Theophane.

Broner will be defending his WBA light welterweight title against Theophane in a still undetermined date in 2016.
