The beginning of the end of Manny Pacquiao's historic boxing career is here, and the only eight-division world champion could not be happier.
With his final media tour as a professional fighter underway, Pacquiao said that more than two decades in the ring is enough for him.
"I'm happy with what I've been in boxing more than 20 years and I think it's enough for me," Pacquiao told Steve Angeles of ABS-CBN News.
Pacquiao is currently in Los Angeles for the press tour of his third fight with Timothy Bradley.
Wife Jinkee is feeling mixed emotions about Manny's impending retirement but she's already at peace with his husband's decision to hang up the gloves.
"Malungkot, pero ako naman happy kasi pinag-pray din namin na okay naman siya sa boxing. Pwede na siya ma-hinto, pwede na mag-retire," she said.
Pacquiao said that he picked Bradley for his final fight to settle all the remaining quetions from their previous two bouts.
Bradley won the first fight in controversial fashion before the Pacman came back to take the rematch.
For promoter Bob Arum, he has nothing but thanks for his prized fighter.
"He's always given us everything that he's ever had. If this is truly the last time, Manny it's been a great ride and I want [to] thank you for everything," Arum said.
Manny Pacquiao will square off against Tim Bradley for a third time on April 9.
