Defending WBO Intercontinental Junior Featherweight Champion "Prince" Albert Pagara shared his thoughts on upcoming challenger Yesner Talavera of Nicaragua
Defending WBO Intercontinental Junior Featherweight Champion “Prince” Albert Pagara gave his thoughts on Nicaraguan challenger Yesner Talavera, just days ahead of their Pinoy Pride 35 Main Event on Saturday, February 27.
“Pinag-aralan ko, amateurish yung galaw niya,” Pagara told ABS-CBN Sports. “Parang amateur siya, pa-takbo-takbo, may pa-abante, may pa-atras, ganun yung laban niya.”
The unbeaten Pagara is confident that his training will serve as his main edge against Talavera, who boasts a 15-3-1 professional record.
Still, Pagara says that he can’t underestimate his opponent, as the 21-year old Talavera can be as dangerous a challenge as anyone.
“Hindi naman natin pwede i-underestimate yung kalaban natin kasi may kamay ‘yan, nagte-training din yan. Ang importante ay kung ano yung makikita sa ibabaw ng ring.”
Pagara says that Talavera’s speed is what he’ll be watching out for on Saturday.
