Filipino lightweight boxer Charly Suarez took home the silver medal in the Asia and Oceania Boxing Olympic Qualifying Tournament after falling to Mongolia’s Dorjnyambuugiin Otgondalai in the Final in Qian’an, China.
Two of the three judges scored the bout in favor of Otgondalai, which was enough to get him the majority decision win.
Suarez will still head to Brazil for the 2016 Summer Olympics, after finishing as one of the top-three boxers in the weight division.
Suarez will be joined by light flyweight Rogen Ladon, who also took home a silver medal after losing to Uzbekistan’s Hasaboy Dumatov in the final.
