Nonito Donaire Jr says that he's ready for a long night, but believes that he'll be ending it quickly
After going 12 rounds in the sweltering Philippine heat, reigning WBO Super Bantamweight king Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire is on the final stretch of is preparation, and with only days away before his highly anticipated title defense against Hungary’s Zsolt “Mr. Left Hook” Bedak, in Cebu, the Pinoy slugger is peaking at just the right time.
Team Donaire is happy with how Nonito’s training is coming along, given that Nonito could only previously do seven rounds because of the intense heat. Being able to go all twelve rounds is a good indicator of where Nonito Jr.’s conditioning is.
At this point, Nonito Jr. is ready for a marathon, but believes that he can finish the fight early.
Bedak on the other hand, has also been getting used to the Philippine heat, and is making sure that his hand and foot speed is on point for Saturday’s big showdown.
Timing and combinations will be key for the Hungarian challenger against the Pinoy champion.
Donaire and Bedak will go head to head in front of a jam-packed Cebu City Sports Complex on Saturday, April 23, and it’s going to be for the WBO Super Bantamweight title.
Catch "The Time Has Come: Donaire vs. Bedak" will air live via SkyCable pay-per-view on April 23, Saturday and on free TV on April 24, Sunday, 8:30 a.m. on ABS-CBN channel 2 and 1 p.m. on ABS-CBN Sports+Action channel 23
