It looks like Pinoy slugger Milan "El Metodico" Melindo won't be getting his long awaited rematch against Mexico's Javier "Cobra" Mendoza at Pinoy Pride 36 after all.

With around two weeks left until fight night, it was reported that Mendoza has pulled out of the May 28 card in Bacolod due to an injury sustained in training. Zanfer Promotions informed ALA Boxing of the situation, Wednesday.

The bout between Melindo and Mendoza was slated to be a title-elminator bout, with the winner challenging for the IBF World Light Flyweight Championship.

Melindo and Mendoza met for that very title back in May of 2015, with Mendoza defending against the Pinoy boxer via Technical Decision, before losing the title to current holder Akira Yaegashi of Japan.

Melindo is expected to remain on the Pinoy Pride 36 card, with a new opponent being worked out.
