For a couple of weeks now, rumors have been circulating about a possible big money fight between arguably two of the most polarizing figures in the fight game today, retired boxing champion Floyd "Money" Mayweather and reigning MMA champion "The Notorious" Conor McGregor.
Many experts and analysts dismissed the superfight as nothing more than just ramblings due to the magnitude of the payscale and the circumstances surrounding McGregor's contractual obiligations with his MMA promotion.
Still, talks continued to swirl as Mayweather and McGregor both began to talk more about the superfight.
As it turns out, "Money" Mayweather is more than open to the superfight. On a video on the ES News Youtube channel, Mayweather went on record saying that he'll only come out of retirement it it's against the brash Irishman.
"If I do fight, it's only against Conor McGregor. That's gonna be my only fight, not against nobody else."
Mayweather went on to explain why he'd be willing to face off against the champion mixed-martial artist.
"It's because this matchup is just so intriguing, you have a fighter against an MMA fighter, one of the best MMA fighters to do combat, to stand up and do it. He's a strong fighter, when I look at him fight, he's a little faster than I thought he was, so, if the fight happens, I can't overlook the guy."
Mayweather even had a little message for McGregor, but not one you'd expect from a competitor as cocky and as arrogant as people are used to with Mayweather.
"I'm pretty sure, if we made the fight happen, I'm pretty sure you'd push me to the limit."
