Garcia using revenge as motivation against Nietes

"“Me and my brother, we fight differently, we’re not the same fighter." - Raul "Rayito" Garcia
Fun fact: The last time that Donnie Nietes fought in front of a Negrense crowd, it was against a Mexican challenger named Ramon Garcia at the La Salle Gym in Bacolod, back in 2011. That night, Nietes beat Garcia to claim the WBO Light Flyweight title, the title that has made him the longest reigning Filipino boxing champion.
Fast forward about five years later, Nietes returns to the very same gym in Bacolod to defend the very same title he won against another Mexican challenger named Garcia, Raul Garcia, who happens to be Ramon’s twin brother.
A former two-time world champion in his own right, Raul Garcia says that vengeance is a motivating factor for him against the man who beat his twin brother back in 2011.
“Absolutely, 100 percent. I’m coming back for vengeance for my brother.” Raul told ABS-CBN Sports.
While this may be the case for the challenger, he says that he and brother are two different challenges for Nietes.
“Me and my brother, we fight differently, we’re not the same fighter. My brother fought Nietes one way, but I’ve got my own style of fighting.”
On Saturday evening, Garcia will get to show the world if his fortune against Nietes will indeed be different than his twin brother’s.
