Filipina slugger Nor-Farajane “Norj” Guro was unsuccessful in her attempt at the WBC World Female Minimumweight title, after succumbing to a broken nose against champion Yuko Kuroki in Japan, Monday.

According to PhilBoxing.com’s Lito delos Reyes, Guro’s nose had already been damaged as early as the third round, courtesy of the champion’s stiff jabs.

That did little to deter the 25-year old Iligan native however, who kept fighting and held her own in a couple of rounds.

2:09 into the eight frame however, the referee stepped in and called the bout after blood continued to drip profusely from Guro’s nose.

Kuroki, who was already ahead in the cards through the eight rounds, came away with the knockout win and recorded her seventh straight win and third straight title defense.

Guro on the other hand, has dropped her last three fights.
