The draw results are in, and Pinoy boxers Rogen Ladon and Charly Suarez now have a path towards the gold medal in the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Men’s light flyweight representative Ladon gets a bye into the Round of 16, where he waits for the winner of Brazil’s Patrick Lourenco and Colombia’s Yurbejen Martinez.
Three wins, and Ladon will be taking home olympic boxing gold.
Men’s lightweight bet Suarez’s road to the gold will be a bit longer though, as be begins his campaign in the opening Round of 32, where he’ll be facing Great Britain’s Joseph Cordina.
Four wins, and Suarez can call himself an olympic gold medalist.
The Round of 32 matches kick off August 6-7, while the Round of 16 matches take place on August 9, all Brazil time.
Best of luck to all our Pinoy athletes in the 2016 Olympics!
