With just a little over a month to go before Pinoy Pride 38, Team ALA Boxing begins their training, and they're doing it at the famed Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles, California.
In case you're not familiar, Wild Card Gym is owned and operated by legendary boxing trainer Freddie Roach, the long-time coach of none other than eight-division boxing world champion Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao.
It won't be the first time that Team ALA trains at Wild Card this year, as Albert Pagara, Jason Pagara, and Mark Magsayo have all put in work with Roach earlier this year.
Magsayo is back, and this time around he's with Pinoy Pride 38 main eventer and former long-time junior flyweight champion Donnie "Ahas" Nietes and "King" Arthur Villanueva.
Nietes is set to make his flyweight debut against former world champion Edgar Sosa of Mexico, while Villanueva meets Juan Jimenez in a rematch of their bout in Bacolod last May.
Magsayo on the other hand, is on the card as the co-main eventer, but his opponent has yet to be determined.
Pinoy Pride 38: Philippines vs. Mexico takes place on Saturday, September 24 at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. Catch the telecast on Sunday, September 25 on ABS-CBN channel 2 and ABS-CBN Sports+Action channel 23!
