Mark Magsayo meets Ruben Garcia at Pinoy Pride 38
Mark Magsayo heads into Pinoy Pride 38 with a ton of momentum after beating the tough Chris Avalos in his last fight.

21-year old ALA Boxing stand-out Mark "Magnifico" Magsayo finally gets a name to prepare for.

With a month to go before Pinoy Pride 38, it has been reported that the unbeaten Magsayo will be facing Mexico's Ruben Garcia in a battle for the WBO International Featherweight Championship.

Magsayo (14-0, 11 KO), is coming off a huge comeback knockout win against former world title challenger Chris "the Hitman" Avalos in what many believe is was the young Pinoy boxer's toughest challenge so far.

After getting rocked late in the second round and dropped in the third round, Magsayo battled back to stop Avalos in the sixth round of their matchup in Cebu.

The 23-year old Garcia (17-2, 7 KO) is currently on a two-fight winning streak, with the two wins coming within a week of each other.

The Magsayo-Garcia bout will serve as the co-main event of the bout, coming before Donnie "Ahas" Nietes flyweight debut against Edgar Sosa.

Pinoy Pride 38: Philippines vs. Mexico takes place on Saturday, September 24 at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. Catch the telecast on Sunday, September 25 on ABS-CBN channel 2 and ABS-CBN Sports+Action channel 23!
