“fighting on a Pacquiao card has always been something he has wanted to do because it will give him a chance to show his support for what Manny has done to open the door for Filipinos.” - Rachel Donaire
Earlier this week, it was announced that reigning WBO Super Bantamweight Champion Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire Jr. will be fighting on the same card as Manny Pacquiao on November 5 at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas.
It’ll be the first time that the two Pinoy boxing stars fight on the same card, and according to Donaire’s wife Rachel, it’s something that The Filipino Flash has wanted for quite a while now.
“fighting on a Pacquiao card has always been something he has wanted to do because it will give him a chance to show his support for what Manny has done to open the door for Filipinos.” Rachel said via an interview with Ronnie Nathanielz of Philboxing.com.
With Pacquiao taking on Jesse Vargas and Donaire taking on Magdaleno, Rachel said that the momentous card would once again highlight the long-standing rivalry between the Philippines and Mexico when it comes to boxing.
Rachel also added that the fight being held in Las Vegas would be beneficial for Donaire’s Filipino friends that haven’t gotten to see him fight in a while.
