The Philippines has yet another boxing world champion.
24-year old Jerwin "Pretty Boy" Ancajas scored the biggest win of his career after dethroning Puerto Rico's McJoe Arroyo to become the new IBF Super Flyweight champion, Saturday evening in Taguig, Philippines.
After 12 rounds of action, all three of the judges scored the bout in favor of Ancajas, 118-109, 115-112, and 117-110, handing the Pinoy pug his 25th win in 27 professional bouts. Arroyo on the other hand, suffered his the first loss of his career.
A native of Davao, Ancajas began his professional career back in 2009, and went on a 14-fight unbeaten streak, before dropping his first ever title bout, against Mark Anthony Geraldo, via majority decision back in 2012.
Since then, the MP Promotions fighter won eleven straight before challenging for the title.
Prior to facing Ancajas, Arroyo defeated ALA Boxing standout "King" Arthur Villanueva for the very same IBF title in El Paso, Texas.
