With just a little over two weeks to go before his upcoming title bout against Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donaire Jr., unbeaten Las Vegas native Jessie Magdaleno can hardly wait to get in the ring with the Pinoy four division world champion.
And to shake things up, the 24-year old will be sporting a new hairdo heading into fight night, as he's gone blonde.
"I just wanted to go a different route I thought it looked cool," Magdaleno told Steve Angeles of ABS-CBN News. "Maybe I'll be the real Flash come November 5th."
Getting his first crack at a world championship, it's no surprise that the young Magdaleno is raring to get into the ring. After calling Donaire out for over a year, he finally has the chance to show the world that he can back his talk up.
"Everyday I wake up motivated. It's getting closer and closer to accomplishing my dreams and we're just two weeks away. I get anxious and ready to start the show."
Experience will definitely be on the side of Donaire in his highly anticipated contest, but for Magdaleno, it's his youth and his confidence that will be his biggest advantages.
"I’m younger in this fight, I think I’m hungrier than him in this fight. He’s fast, but I’m faster. I think this is my time, and that will be the difference." Magdaleno said, via BoxingScene.com's Miguel Rivera.
Come fight night, Donaire will be nine years older than his challenger, as he tries to defend his WBO world super bantamweight title for the second time since winning it last December.
