Filipino IBF world super flyweight champion Jerwin "Pretty Boy" Ancajas had a pretty strong showing in his first title defense, defeating Mexico's Jose Alfredo Rodriguez via seventh-round stoppage, Sunday evening at the CotaiArena, The Venetian, Macau.

The 25-year old Ancajas dominated for all seven rounds, lighting his Mexican challenger up and looked like he was on his way to a clear-cut decision win.

Just before the start of the eighth round however, Rodriguez, who had complained of a shoulder injury, was unable to continue, handing the Pinoy champion the victory.

The Davao del Norte-born Ancajas improves to 26-1-1 in his professional career, with 17 wins coming by way of knockout.
