It looks like everybody wants a piece of 'Mystic Mac.'
With all the news and rumours swirling around a potential superfight between reigning UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor and unbeaten boxing legend Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr, even our very own senator-slash-world champion Manny Pacquiao threw his name in the mix, saying he'd like to test the Irishman out.
The eight-division world champion and reigning WBO welterweight king revealed to Fox Sports last week that he was interested in fighting the former two-division UFC champion, but only inside the boxing ring.
McGregor responded during a Q&A, saying that maybe he'd just fight Pacquiao, among other things in an expletive-filled tirade against the UFC, Mayweather Jr, and others.
Pacquiao's manager, Bob Arum of Top Rank Boxing, did little to diffuse the rumors, saying that he'd "absolutely love for the fight to happen."
"Conor McGregor is a good athlete, he’s the best in MMA, but MMA and boxing are two different sports. It’s a lot of talk, everybody’s having a lot of fun about it, and yeah, sure, Manny Pacquiao would like to fight Conor McGregor in boxing." Arum said in an interview with TMZ Sports.
Aside from saying that any boxer would knock McGregor out, Arum also said that he believes McGregor would be easy money for Manny.
"Absolutely, I don’t have to be involved, I ain’t getting in the ring, but that’s an easy fight for Manny, and I would love for that fight to happen."
Arum had more to say, especially about UFC president Dana White. Check out the video HERE.
