Mark Magsayo made quick work of Tanzania's Issa Nampepeche

Newly-crowned IBF world flyweight champion Donnie "Ahas" Nietes was no doubt the biggest winner after Pinoy Pride 40, Saturday evening at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino in Cebu, but also victorious earlier that night were his ALA Boxing Gym teammates Mark "Magnifico" Magsayo and Jeo "Santino" Santisima.

Magsayo had the quickest night among everyone, needing only a little over two minutes to dispatch Tanzania's Issa "Peche Boy" Nampepeche in their co-main event matchup.

The unbeaten ALA Boxing standout landed a left hook that sent Nampepeche to the mat, but the Tanzanian managed to answer the first ten-count. Magsayo made sure that his opposition wouldn't be getting back up a second time as he landed another solid left hook that dropped Nampepeche once more, forcing the referee to intervene.

The 21-year old Tacloban native improves to 16-0 in his young career with twelve knockouts.

Another one of ALA Boxing's top prospects, Santisima, picked up a gritty ten-round decision win over Indonesia's Master Suro.

While many expected the young Masbatenyo to run over his Indonesian foe, that wasn't the case come fight night, as Santisima, while dominant for all ten rounds, just couldn't put Suro away. Santisima unloaded combination after combination, and at times looked as if he was within moments of getting a stoppage, but the Indonesian managed to tough it out and push the young Pinoy pug to the distance.

After ten rounds, Santisima walked away with a clear-cut unanimous decision win, with all the judges scoring the fight 100-89 in favor of the ALA up-and-comer.

Santisima improves to 13-2 in his career, but sees his impressive streak knockouts snapped at ten straight fights.
