Whatever the result may be during his superfight against Floyd Mayweather this weekend, Conor McGregor has already won.
Well, from a financial standpoint, at least.
According to a report from MMA Fighting's Marc Raimondi, 'The Notorious' one's disclosed payout for the fight will be at around $US 30 million, which is roughly ten times what he made against Nate Diaz back in 2016.
When McGregor defeated Diaz in their 2016 rematch, the Irish sensation banked a cool $US 3 million, which was, at the time, the biggest disclosed purse in UFC history.
Not even the likes of former champions Georges St-Pierre, Anderson Silva, Jon Jones, or even cross-platform superstar Brock Lesnar made that much disclosed money with the promotion.
When McGregor faced Eddie Alvarez for the UFC lightweight title at UFC 205 in New York, it was expected that he would be earning more, but the amount was not disclosed by the New York State Athletic Commission.
According to rumours, McGregor banked another record-breaking $US 5 million for the Alvarez fight, the fight that made him a two-division UFC champion.
While 5-mil is a big amount, especially for MMA fighters, it's still a fraction of what he's set to earn this weekend.
In reality, that guaranteed 30-mil is also just a fraction of what McGregor could be taking home, as according to Forbes, the estimated total purse will be at around $US 300-million, and the splits could be at around 70-30 or 75-25, with 'Money' Mayweather getting the bigger portion.
Based on those numbers, McGregor could be taking home around $US 90 million, which blows away anything that the Irishman has made in the UFC.
Heck, it blows out what McGregor claimed he'll be making for the whole of 2016, which he pegged at $US 40 million.
All of these numbers, of course, are estimates. What is for sure however, is that whatever happens on Saturday night (Sunday morning, Manila time), the already-rich Conor McGregor is going to be even richer.
Not bad for someone who was once a plumber's apprentice in Dublin, Ireland.
