Pinoy boxer 'King' Arthur Villanueva put up a valiant effort, but ultimately fell to reigning WBC bantamweight champion Luis 'Pantera' Nery via TKO in the sixth round in their non-title bout in Tijuana, Mexico.
The ALA Boxing standout went toe-to-toe with the champ in the early moments of the match, even scoring a knockdown in the fourth round.
Tijuana-native Nery managed to preserve his unbeaten record however, putting Villanueva away in the sixth frame.
Nery improves to 25-0 in his career, which includes 19 wins coming via knockout.
Villanueva drops to 31-3, absorbing the first stoppage loss of his career.
