Following his sixth-round stoppage win over Jamie Conlan in Belfast, reigning IBF super flyweight world champion Jerwin 'Pretty Boy' Ancajas paid a visit to 'boss' Manny Pacquiao.
"So proud of you Jerwin Ancajas" Pacquiao's post in Instagram read. "Keep working hard and stay focused. You have brought honor to our country."
High praise from someone who knows a thing or two about bringing back home some glory in terms of boxing.
And deservedly so. Ancajas has emerged as one of the boxing world's most feared champions, considering that he's just three defenses into his title reign.
The MP Promotions standout dethroned Puerto Rico's McJoe Arroyo for the championship back in 2016, and has since defended the title in dominating fashion three times.
In his first title defense, Ancajas took out Jose Alfredo Rodriguez of Mexico in seven rounds, and then followed that up with a dominant seven-round whooping of Japan's Teiru Kinoshita on the co-main event of the Pacquiao-Jeff Horn battle in Brisbane, Australia.
In his most recent outing, Ancajas again outclassed another top contender in the erstwhile-undefeated Conlan via sixth-round TKO.
Three dominating title defenses in less than a year, and with the way things are looking, 'Pretty Boy' is poised for even more successful defenses in the future.
Already drawing comparisons to boss 'Pacman', could Ancajas be destined for the same level of boxing greatness?
