Melindo, Taguchi make weight for title unification bout in Japan

World champions Milan Melindo and Ryoichi Taguchi both made weight easily, one day before their scheduled junior flyweight world title unification bout in Tokyo, Japan on New Year's Eve.
Filipino IBF junior flyweight world champion Melindo tipped the scales at 107.5-pounds, while WBA junior flyweight world champion Taguchi of Japan came in at 107.75-pounds, both under the 108-pound junior flyweight limit.
The two are set to meet in a winner-take-all junior flyweight title unification bout at the Ota City General Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan on Sunday, December 31st.
