LOOK: Milan Melindo back in Cebu after New Year's Eve battle in Japan
Milan 'El Metodico' Melindo is back in Cebu after his New Year's Eve bout in Japan.
Former IBF junior flyweight world champion Milan 'El Metodico' Melindo is back in his home of Cebu following his twelve-round New Year's Eve battle against Ryoichi Taguchi in Japan.
All bandaged-up, Melindo, who suffered a pair of cuts in the fight, took time to answer some questions from the media after his arrival.
Albeit a gutsy effort for the Pinoy, Japan's Taguchi used his reach and his range to get the better of the 29-year old Melindo, winning via a clear-cut unanimous decision.
As a result, Taguchi unified the IBF and WBA junior flyweight world championships.
A day after the fight, Melindo's coach and ALA Boxing Gym head trainer Edito Villamor took to social media to give his props to Taguchi, calling him the 'better fighter'.
Melindo enters 2018 with a 37-3 record with 13 knockouts.
