With less than a week to go before his United States debut, reigning IBF super flyweight world champion Jerwin ‘Pretty Boy’ Ancajas has already touched down in the United States, and took time out to drop by his ‘boss’ Manny Pacquiao’s home gym in the United States, the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles, California.
The biggest star of Manny Pacquiao’s MP Promotions, Ancajas got a good look at the gym that honed the eight-division world champion’s skills, and even met the man behind the world famous boxing gym and the Filipino boxing icon, legendary coach Freddie Roach.
“Sobrang saya po, natuwa po kasi etong Wild Card, parang tahanan ng mga legend, mga champion, tapos nag-punta kami dito.” an ecstatic Ancajas told ABS-CBN’s Steve Angeles. “Talagang na-meet namin si Freddie Roach tapos si Sir Bob [Arum], ibang nararamdaman ko, sobrang tuwa ako na nandito po.”
The 26-year old Ancajas is being touted as ‘The Next Pacquiao’, and it’s highly-likely that this won’t be the last time he’ll be stepping into the confines of the famed Wild Card gym.
The Davaeño will be defending his IBF title for the fourth time against Mexico’s Israel Gonzalez at the Bank of America Center in Corpus Christi, Texas on Saturday, February 3rd.
The fight will be co-promoted by MP Promotions and Bob Arum’s Top Rank Promotions.
