Golden Boy Promotions founder and boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya is reportedly flying into Manila for a press conference that will likely announce the WBA welterweight world title bout between Manny Pacquiao and champion Lucas Mathysse.
Pacquiao and De La Hoya recently confirmed that the WBW title bout is a go for July 15th in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Initially mentioned by Pacquiao's publicist Aquiles Zonio on BoxingScene.com via ABS-CBN News, De La Hoya is expected to be in the country this month, along with Golden Boy Promotions boxer Mathysse to formally announce the upcoming title bout.
According to a report from ABS-CBN's Dyan Castillejo, the press conference is expected to take place on Wednesday, April 19th.
Castillejo added that Pacquiao, Mathysse, and De La Hoya are all expected to head to Malaysia following the Manila launching of the bout.
