Filipino boxer 'Ruthless' Romero Duno earned another victory Thursday evening in Indio, California, after defeating Mexican Gilberto Gonzales via unanimous decision.
The 22-year old General Santos native established himself early in the bout, knocking Gonzales down in the second round.
The Pinoy continued to outwork and outscore his more experienced Mexican foe in the succeeding rounds, but Gonzales tried to rally back in the latter rounds.
In the end, Duno did enough over the course of ten rounds for a 98-92, 97-93, 97-93 win.

"Kulang yung suntok na binigay ko, kaya umabot kami ng ten rounds," said Duno after the bout, via Steve Angeles of ABS-CBN News. "Matibay rin."
Backstage, Duno was having his right hand iced, saying that it got hurt during the course of the bout.
"Sakit nga lang, pero sinuntok ko parin kasi maraming umaasa, maraming nag-eexpect ng knockout, kaya kahit sumakit, sinuntok ko parin."
Duno improves to 17-1 in his career with 14 of his wins coming via KO or TKO. He also extends his impressive winning streak to eight straight as he continues to move closer to a coveted world title opportunity.
Gonzales on the other hand, suffers his second straight loss, with his previous defeat coming at the hands of Duno's training partner and former world title challenger Mercito "No Mercy" Gesta.
