Boxing: Manny Pacquiao dispels rumours of fight postponement
Manny Pacquiao says his fight against Lucas Mathysse in Malaysia is not being postponed.

As the highly-anticipated bout between Manny Pacquiao and Lucas Mathysse inches closer, the eight-division boxing world champion asures everyone that the fight is definitely pushing through on the scheduled date.

Pacquiao is set to challenge Mathysse for the WBA Welterweight World Championship this coming July 15th at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.

Reports have surfaced that the MP Promotions and Golden Boy Promotions co-promoted event has been promoted, which Pacquiao says is a bit of fake news.

"That is malicious and untrue," said Pacquiao.

Pacquiao added that if anything, the false postponement rumors have even added to the fight's publicity, which the boxer-turned-senator is "thankful" for.

"Ironically, I would like to thank these rumor-mongers for the extra publicity that they are contributing to make this fight such a huge success."

"I am turning this negative news into something good because no news is actually bad news," Pacquiao added.

Aside from Pacquiao, Mario Arano of Arano Box, Mathysse's co-promoters, denied any rumours of the fight being pushed back.

Translated to english, Arano's tweet reads "Given the wrong versions of the postponement of Pacquiao-Matthysse, such as the news that we retweeted, Arano Box clarifies that the fight has no problem and the date remains unchanged"

The 39-year old Pacquiao is going for his 60th professional win and another world title reign, while Mathysse, 35, is going for his first title defense.
