Manny Pacquiao and Lucas Matthysse kick off Fight Week in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Fight of Champions headliners Manny Pacquiao and Lucas Matthysse have both arrived in Kuala Lumpur, days before their highly-anticipated world title clash.

The challenger, eight division boxing world champion Manny Pacquiao of the Philippines arrived Monday evening, while Argentinian reigning WBA (Regular) Welterweight World Champion Lucas Matthysse arrived the previous week.

After completing his training camp in his hometown of General Santos, Pacquiao, who's gunning for his 60th win in 68 professional bouts, says he's excited to showcase his world-class talents to the Malaysian fans.

“We are locked and loaded. I am more than ready and excited to show Malaysian fight fans the fruits of hard training and preparation. We had a very great training camp and I cannot wait to fight on Sunday, July 15."

The 39-year old Pacquiao will be gunning for an impressive eleventh world championship.

Reigning champion Matthysse on the other hand, will be defending his first world championship for the first time, and it'll be against the biggest challenge he's faced in his career.

“I feel 100 percent sure that I will succeed in this fight. I trained very hard to defend my title in Malaysia. I’ve already gotten used to the weather and time here."

The 35-year old Matthysse, who has a staggering 82% KO percentage with 36 of his 39 wins coming via knockout, believes that his power will be enough to put the legendary Pacquiao away.

"I’m in great condition, and I promise a great performance to the entire world. I thank Golden Boy Promotions, Arano Box and everyone involved in the promotion. This will be a first-class combat in which I promise a spectacular victory!”

Pacquiao and Matthysse will square off at the Axiata Arena on Sunday, July 15th.
