Pinoy Jhack Tepora stops Edivaldo Ortega to become interim WBA champion

Undefeated Cebuano boxer Jhack Tepora made a childhood dream come true at Fight of Champions after stopping Mexico's Edivaldo Ortega via TKO to become the new interim WBA Featherweight World Champion, Sunday morning at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Tepora and Ortega put on an exciting back-and-forth affair, but in the ninth round, it was the Pinoy who took advantage.
Tepora floored Ortega with a vicious right uppercut, before eventually finishing the Mexican off with a flurry of unanswered shots.
The stoppage came in at the 2:39 mark of the ninth round.
"Sobrang saya ko, kasi gusto ko maging world champion, bata pa ako, gusto ko maging world champion," an elated Tepora said during the post-fight interview. "Dati, [namumulot lang po ako sa daan], nakita ko po si Sir Manny [Pacquiao], naging world champion siya, gusto ko rin maging [katulad] ni Sir Manny!"
The 25-year old Tepora improves to 22-0 in his career with 17 wins coming via stoppage.
