Donaire Jr. challenges WBA champ Burnett in World Boxing Super Series Quarterfinals

Nonito Donaire Jr. returns to the ring on November 3rd against WBA champion Ryan Burnett.
Filipino former world champion Nonito 'The Filipino Flash' Donaire Junior gets another shot at a world championship when he challenges Irish world champion Ryan Burnett in the quarterfinals of the World Boxing Super Series Bantamweight Tournament at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland on November 3rd.
The bout will be for the WBA 'Unified' Bantamweight World Championship and the WBC Diamond Bantamweight Championship, as reported on BBC.com.
Donaire Jr, 35, is coming off a failed bid for the vacant WBO Interim Featherweight World Championship against Carl Frampton back in April.
WIth his last two bouts coming in the featherweight division, Donaire made the announcement that he was jumping back down to bantamweight for the first time since 2011 to join the World Boxing Super Series bantamweight tournament.
Donaire Jr. is a four-division world champion with a professional record of 38-5, with 24 wins coming via KO or TKO.
26-year old Burnett, the top seed in the bantamweight tournament, is undefeated in 19 professional bouts with nine wins coming via KO or TKO.
In 2017, Burnett captured the IBF Bantamweight World Championship and then followed it up by capturing the WBA 'Unified' Bantamweight crown.
He is coming off a successful WBA title defense over Yonfrez Parejo.
The winner of the Donaire-Burnett bout advances to the semifinals to face the winner of the quarterfinals matchup between WBO Bantamweight World Champion Zolani Tete of South Africa and Mikhail Aloyan of Russia.
