Following the announcement of Manny Pacquiao's return to the ring this coming January 2019 against Adrien Broner, the eight-division world champion has also revealed that he will be reuniting with long-time trainer Freddie Roach.

ABS-CBN's Dyan Castillejo said in a tweet that Pacquiao has spoken to Roach and the two will be working together once again.

Pacquiao and Roach reportedly met in Los Angeles and were able to talk for a few minutes.

This is the first time that the two have spoken since Pacquiao lost to Australian Jeff Horn by decision back in 2017.

Early in 2018, Pacquiao and Roach had a highly-publicised falling out of sorts, taking place following the Filipino boxer's controversial decision loss to Horn in Australia.

In Pacquiao's bout against WBA (regular) Welterweight World Championship-clinching win against Lucas Mattyhsse back in July, Pacquiao was without Roach in his corner for the first time since 2001.

During the Pacquiao-Broner press conference in New York earlier this week, Pacquiao talked about bringing Roach back into the fold.

“Me and Freddie, we have a good relationship since 2001,” Pacquiao via Keith Idec of “We don’t have problems in terms of training, sharing our knowledge about strategy, techniques in training. We don’t have problems with that.”

Pacquiao continued by addressing his concerns of Roach's health, saying that he can work closely with Pacquiao's long-time friend Buboy Fernandez.

"Buboy and Freddie, they’re a team,” Pacquiao stated. “Buboy is always there. He has experience, many fights with Freddie. So I think Freddie can instruct Buboy to do something like that. Because, you know, Freddie’s not young anymore and I’m, you know, I feel pitiful with Freddie. I’m praying for him, for the healing of his sickness. My plan, my thinking is he can use Buboy to do mitts in training, supervise and watch the training, like that."

“[Roach] can rest and just watch the training, and instruct the training, strategy-wise, advise some techniques like that. Because Buboy, he knows what Freddie wants," Pacquiao added.

Pacquiao and Broner meet for the WBA (regular) Welterweight World Championship on January 19th in Las Vegas.
