Quick work for Money Mayweather
Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr. needed just under a round to finish off Japanese superstar Tenshin Nasukawa in their exhibition bout at Rizin 14 at the Saitama Super Arena in Tokyo, Japan.
Mayweather didn't look like he was taking things too seriously during the opening bell, and Nasukawa took advantage by showcasing his speed and getting the first shot in.
It was then that Mayweather turned things up and began to walk Nasukawa down, landing big shots on the smaller Japanese fighter.
Mayweather unloaded devastating combinations on Nasukawa, knocking him down three times, with the final knockdown coming from a short right hook that ultimately forced Nasukawa's corner to throw in the towel.
The exhibition bout, which was scheduled for three three-minute rounds, was surrounded by controversy from the get-go.
Just days after the superfight was announced, Mayweather came out and revealed that Rizin had caught him by surprise and that the fight was off.
Later, it was reported that the fight was back on, and it would be an exhibition bout with boxing rules.
Mayweather, who owns an undefeated 50-0 professional record in boxing, remains unbeaten when he steps into a ring.
Tenshin, remains undefeated as well, with a 32-0 combined boxing and kickboxing professional record.
