Filipino boxer "Vicious" Vic Saludar retained his WBO Minimumweight World Championship after defeating Japan's Masataka Taniguchi via Unanimous Decision, Tuesday at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
It was a dominant outing for the Cotabato-born Saludar, who coasted to a 118-110, 117-111, 117-111 victory for his first defense of the WBO's minimumweight crown.
The 28-year old Saludar captured the title back in July 2018.
Taniguchi came in to the bout winning three straight contests, with two coming against Filipino fighters.
Saludar remains alongside the likes of Manny Pacquiao, Donnie Nietes, and Nonito Donaire Jr. as Filipino boxing world title holders.
