Donaire vs. Inoue meet in the Finals of the World Boxing Super Series Bantamweight Tournament on November 7th in Saitama, Japan
The Finals of the World Boxing Super Series Bantamweight Finals between Filipino star Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donaire Jr. vs. Japanese juggernaut Naoya "The Monster" Inoue has been set for November 7th at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan.
Donaire (40-5, 26 KO) made his way to the finals after defeating Ryan Burnett via TKO after the Irishman went down with an injury in the 4th round, and then followed that up with a sixth-round destruction of Stephon Young, a late replacement for Zolani Tete in the semifinals.
Inoue (18-0, 16 KO) meanwhile, tore through the first two rounds of the tournament, knocking out Juan Carlos Payano and Emmanuel Rodriguez in just a combined three rounds of action.
Apart from The Muhammad Ali Trophy and the title of WBSS Bantamweight Tournament Champion, Donaire and Inoue will also be battling fo the IBF and the WBA (Super) World Bantamweight Championships.
