The Philippine Azkals continued their preparations for the upcoming AFF Suzuki Cup with a 3-0 win over Nepal in Doha, Qatar.
So far so good.
The Philippine Azkals continued their winning ways ahead of their stint in the AFF Suzuki Cup after drubbing Nepal, 3-0, in a football friendly in front of a predominantly FIlipino crowd at the Al Arabi Stadium in Doha Qatar.
After a scoreless first half, the Azkals finally broke the deadlock four minutes after the restart as substitute Simon Greatwich score from close range.
Phil Younghusband then doubled the lead one minute into injury time after converting on a penalty for his 39th international goal.
Mark Hartmann punctuated the win a minute later with his own strike off a pass from Jerry Lucena.
It was the third straight victory over Nepal for the Azkals, who are set to take on Southeast Asian neighbor Thailand on November 9 and hosting Cambodia on November 14 at Rizal Memorial Stadium.
The Philippines will begin its campaign in the group stage of the Suzuki Cup against Laos on November 22 in Vietnam.
