Thailand outclassed the Philippines, 3-0, in a football friendly.
The Philippine Azkals suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Thailand in a friendly match held in Nakhon Ratchasima on Sunday.
The hosts went ahead in the 30th minute on Mongkol Totsakrai's header that bounced over Azkals keeper Patrick Deyto.
The Azkals had a opportunity to level the match in the 53rd minute but Martin Steuble's long range strike hit the crossbar.
The Thais doubled the lead nine minutes after halftime as Prakit Deeprom followed up a miss shot by a teammate.
The 2012 Suzuki Cup runners-up then added a third goal courtesy of Krookat Thawikan in the 74th minute.
"Excellent game from the Thailand team. With the way they played, they are the favorites in the Suzuki Cup." remarked Azkals coach Thomas Dooley after the game.
The Azkals play one more match against Cambodia at the Rizal Memorial Stadium on November 14 before kicking off their 2014 Suzuki Cup campaign against Laos on November 22.
