The Philippine Azkals will take on Thailand in a home-and-away series in the semifinal round of the 2014 AFF Suzuki Cup.
The Philippine Men's National Football Team faces a tall order when it takes on Thailand when the semifinals of the 2014 AFF Suzuki Cup kicks off on December 6, Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.
The Azkals are making their third straight semifinal appearance in the biennial regional tournament after finishing second to Vietnam in Group A with six points on two wins.
Thailand topped Group B with a maximum nine points on three victories.
The Philippines will host the first leg before traveling to Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok for the second leg on December 10.
History is not on the side of the Azkals as they have lost 14 consecutive meetings to the War Elephants dating back to 1972.
The Philippines has also never advanced past the semifinal round in the AFF Championship.
In their last meeting on November 9, Thailand blanked the Philippines, 3-0.
