De La Salle Dismantles UE in Men's Football

The Taft-based booters score their second win of the season with a 5-1 drubbing of University of the East
The De La Salle Green Archers put on an offensive clinic last Saturday night at the Moro Lorenzo Football Field in Ateneo de Manila as they beat the UE Red Warriors 5-1.
The Lasallian booters wasted little time in getting things started with Jose Montelibano scoring in the ninth minute.
The boys in red managed to even things up, thanks to a penalty kick by Kim Medina in the 35th, but De La Salle gained the upper hand again within a matter of minutes, with a 39th minute conversion from Gio Diamante.
Gelo Diamante also got into the scoring spree, converting on a follow up goal just a minute later. The younger Diamante brother then scored his second consecutive goal, putting in a header from a Montelibano cross to make it 4-1 lead for De La Salle going into the half.
The green and white squad sealed the deal in the 80th minute with a free kick from Nathan Alquiros, scoring the final goal of the game for a 5-1 tally.
De La Salle scores their second win of the season along with two draws, good for eight points. UE drops to one win and three losses, good for three points.
In the earlier women’s division match, Far Eastern University defeated University of Santo Tomas, 2-1.
Sharmine Siatong opened things up for Far Eastern U, scoring in the 36th minute, but UST got an equalizer courtesy of Daryll Ann Mendoza. Alina Rose Araneta connected on a 62nd minute goal, to put the Lady Tams up 2-1.
FEU earns their first win of the season and now sit at one win and one loss good for three points. UST remains winless with one draw and one loss, good for one point.
